I got this Sencut Serene knife as a Christmas present so that we would have a good quality D2 steel knife that we can use to set a baseline in our Cut Tests. But it turned out to be a great knife!
Civivi Baklash Cut Test – Way Tougher Than Expected!
Civivi Baklash Cut Test – Way Tougher Than Expected!
Big thanks to John Emerson (aka “TheTriFyre”) for loanin’ this knife to the channel. The Baklash has been kickin’ around for a few years now, but it’s still sellin’ like crazy. Maybe it’s the solid ergos, maybe it’s that slicey hollow grind, or maybe it’s just a dang good knife for the money. Either way, I gave it an 8 outta 10 on my sharpness scale, and I’d recommend it to anybody lookin’ for a tough, budget-friendly cutter.
So, is the Baklash still a solid buy in 2025? Grab a seat and find out for yourself.

A Knife From AliExp That Looks Like A McNees PM MAC2
I’m glad I decided to wait and pick up the 3.5” version of this knife that looks like the McNees PM MAC2 instead of the 3” version. The 3.5” version fits perfectly in the hand and basically delivers a full size cutting blade in a very EDC friendly size.
