Sometimes a cheap replica knife deserves a second chance. Today I'm sharing the story of this $25 Spyderco Chaparral replica that sat in my drawer for 8 months because the factory finish was so rough I thought it was a complete dud. On a whim, I gave it 10 minutes with some sandpaper - and discovered something surprising.
Not only did it become perfectly smooth and functional, but it's now my go-to fidget knife, beating out my far more expensive and drop-shut folders. This experience led me to rethink what makes a knife "fidgety" - turns out you don't need fancy buttons or drop-shut action to achieve the “most fidgety” status.
