Spyderco Edgerati Cut Test: 9Cr18 Shows Potential

Today I'm putting the new Spyderco Edgerati replica through our Redneck Cut Tests. This great little knife from OKK cost me under $30 and comes with 9Cr18MoV steel - pretty standard for budget replicas. I sharpened it up to an 18-degree edge before testing to give it the best shot possible.

Going into this, I wasn't expecting miracles from the 9Cr18 steel, but sometimes these budget blades can surprise you. After running it through cardboard, rope, hose, and wood, I came away pretty impressed with how it held up. For an affordable EDC option, this Edgerati might just be worth considering. Watch the full test to see exactly how this sub-$30 knife performed and whether it earned a spot on my recommended list.

While there are a lot of multitools out there that are far better quality than these, I still prefer to pack these into my EDC emergency kits. They are some of the least expensive options you can buy, but there’s still enough quality here to fit the role that they fill in my EDC kits.
