Time to put this Spyderco Manix 2 Lightweight replica through our Redneck Cut Tests. I picked this one up from Temu just over a year ago for under $20 and finally got around to seeing what it's made of. The Manix 2 is a really popular EDC in Spyderco's lineup, and this lightweight version lives up to its name - it's definitely easy on the pocket despite being a little tall.
Unfortunately, the blade steel didn't quite live up to my hopes in testing. But before you write it off completely, there's still a lot to appreciate about a sub-twenty-dollar knife with a thin, slicey blade. Sure, you might need to strop it up a little more often than you'd like, but sometimes that's the trade-off you make for an affordable daily carry.
